October 3: Al-Pint Night in Columbia
Join us for an Al-Pint Night benefitting Ragtag Cinema and the Ragtag Film Society on Thursday, October 3, from 5–7 pm at Alpine Shop Columbia! A $10 donation gets you a novelty pint glass and two complimentary pours from Logboat Brewing. Ragtag Cinema is a nonprofit that champions independent film and media arts right here in Columbia. Afterward, head over to Ragtag at 7 pm for a special screening of 127 Hours (additional ticket needed.)
October 8-24: Coat Drive!
Give Some Warmth… Get a Great Deal! Since we held our first coat drive back in 2006, Alpine Shop and The Pathfinder customers have donated nearly 20,000 coats to help keep our communities warm. This year, we’re asking for your help, once again, in bringing in more as we host our 19th annual Coat Drive from Tuesday, October 8 through Tuesday, Oct. 24 at all Alpine Shop locations in Missouri and at The Pathfinder in Manhattan, Kansas. We’ll even give you a $25 coupon to use through the end of October just for donating!
Winter Swap: Check-in Begins 10/12
The oldest and largest event on our calendar – Winter Swap turns 31 this year! This is the event to sell your previously-loved outdoor gear from any category in our store. Skis and Snowboards? Check! Tents and Backpacks? Check! Bikes and Boats? Yep. Car Racks and Jog Strollers? Yesiree.
Check-in for used gear to sell runs Saturday, Oct. 12 through Thursday, Oct. 17. Used Gear sales run Friday night, Oct. 18 through Sunday, Oct. 20. Swaps are only held at our Kirkwood and Columbia Alpine Shop locations.
October 18-27: Glennon Card Shopping Period
When you purchase a Glennon Card – either at Alpine Shop, on on-line at glennoncard.org, 100% of your money benefits the kids cared for by SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis. You’ll also get 20% Off Almost Everything in Our Stores! (And 10% off bikes, boats and snowsport gear). October 29: Al-Pint Nights in Kirkwood & Columbia
One of the biggest Al-Pint Nights of the Year! Join us on Tuesday, October 29 in both Kirkwood and Columbia for events sponsored by Oboz Footwear and Smartwool. Benefitting Stray Rescue of Saint Louis (Kirkwood) and Columbia Second Chance (Columbia), these events will feature free pairs of Smartwool socks for the first attendees (limited stock), free demos of Oboz’s new Fast Trail Katabatic Wind shoes, and Mystery Gift Cards for use on these two brands.
Coming Soon: Castlewood 8-Hour Adventure Race - December 7
Named by Terrain Magazine’s readers as the Best Adventure Race in the area in 2023, the Castlewood 8-Hour Adventure Race has grown to become the third-largest adventure race in the country.
